Key Pets

A pixel-art pet that lives on one Stream Deck key.

Seven animals. Seven temperaments.

Each answers the same press its own way, and keeps its own hours. Its mood follows the attention you give it, and shows in what it does, never as a number.

  • Cat

Fine on its own, slow-blinks when you linger, and tells you when it has had enough.

Liveliest in the evening; yawns after eleven.

  • Dog

Misses you within the hour, wags when you hold the key, and only gets happier the more you press.

    Brightest in the morning.

  • Fox

Wary. Looks at you first, and is slow to forgive if you overdo it.

    Bright at dusk and dawn.

  • Rabbit

Settles in when held. Bolts if you push it, and forgives at once.

    Bright at dawn and dusk.

  • Hamster

Startles and freezes, and is fine with you when it is happy.

Sleeps through your working day; zoomies at night.

  • Owl

Barely notices you at all, and is unreservedly pleased when you stay.

    Nocturnal; liveliest late at night.

  • Frog

Patient and unsure, then croaks. Hops off if you overdo it.

Quiet in the midday heat; comes alive with the evening chorus.

Forty-three coats.

From orange tabby, tuxedo and siamese to arctic fox, snowy owl and red-eyed tree frog. Five backgrounds, or none at all, so it sits on your deck the way you like.

Company, not a chore.

It's ambient. Ignore it for a week and it's still there, a little lonelier, glad to see you.

Nothing to feed
No hunger bar, no coins, no litter. It can't die and it never asks for anything.
No notifications
It never interrupts you. It says how it feels with five small emote bubbles, and a switch turns them off.
As many as you have keys
One key each. Put a cat on your editing profile and an owl on your night one.
Silent
No sounds, so it's safe to leave on while you stream or call.

Privacy.

The plugin never touches the network. It makes no requests of any kind, has no account, and collects nothing. The only thing it stores is each key's settings: the animal, the coat, the background and whether bubbles show. Its mood lives in memory and is gone when Stream Deck restarts.
